Our Coffee Lounge
Nestled by the picturesque town of Budleigh Salterton, just a stone’s throw away from the beach, you will find Oak Barn – The home of great quality furniture, home accessories, gifts and the cosiest coffee lounge in Devon. We have a great selection of food, drink and the best Devonshire Cream Teas you’ve ever tasted (you can choose whether it’s cream first or jam we won’t judge)!!
With such unpredictable weather here in Devon, you have the option of dining indoors in our cosy coffee lounge or taking your treats outside in our stunning undercover dining area (made by Mike during lockdown, so he's rather proud of it)!
Our gorgeous outdoor seating offers the opportunity to enjoy your food and drink ‘Al FRESCO’ while you soak up the stunning surroundings, and you might even catch a glimpse of our neighbours two beautiful horses!
We welcome well behaved dogs in the outdoor dining area in both the under cover and outer area. Of course, service dogs are very welcome in the coffee lounge.
We have a seasonal menu which offers a variety of homemade cakes, tray bakes and scones and we also have some delicious light lunch options.
We try our best to cater to your dietary requirements and allergies, so please let your server know when you place your order at the bar.
As our menu changes seasonally and we offer lots of different yummy homemade goodies, we don't publish our menu on the website however you can see our daily specials as and when they are updated, on our social media.
We offer an incredible Devonshire Cream Tea, both sweet and savoury and use only the best ingredients in our freshly baked scones. Please check out our reviews at the bottom of the page- our scones are legendary!
There is no need to make a reservation, just pop down to Oak Barn and we’ll look after you.
If you are visiting as part of a large group, we would appreciate advance notice so that we can ensure you enjoy your visit as much as possible and receive the best service!
Our coffee lounge is open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 4pm with last orders at 3.30pm.
We are now also offering takeaway service. We fully appreciate that life can be hectic and not everyone has the time to sit and relax but they don't want to miss out on our delicious barista coffee and cakes (and we don't blame you). All of our menu is available to take away with you, including our scones... one scone is never enough!
